First of all, Thank you all so much for your faves and watches~! You guys are awesome.

Here I'm going to answer some questions that people always ask me about drawing programs and coloring. I hope I could make it clear enough for you guys to understand. I haven't been reading/speaking English a lot for a while, and I think my English skillz got even worse by now. =.=''

Okay, there we go...

What program do you use for drawing?

Mostly I use Photoshop7.0 and Paint Tool SAI for digtal drawing. (well not that I can do traditional drawing anyways.. =.='' )

SAI is a nice program for making linearts. And I usually use it for coloring too.


Where can I get this SAI program?

You can get a trial version of SAI here : sai.detstwo.com/sai/

Do you use pen/pencial for sketching and then color the lineart with computer?

Ehh.. nope. XD I suck at hand-drawing badly... I just sketch and color with computer. Its hard in the beginning but it became kinda convenient after I got used to it...


What kind of tablet do you use?

Wacom intuos 3. It was a gift from a friend...

So now here's this tutorial thingy I made for you! I know its really bad... but this is the best I can come up with. *headdesk*


COLORING STEPS


Step 1: lineart - img87.imageshack.us/img87/989/…

its always hard to make it look clean enough... there's no easy ways to do this I guess. you just need to practice more. =.=''


Step 2: basic coloring - img87.imageshack.us/img87/4304…

pick up some light colors... because you'll need to add lots of shadings on the pic later.


Step 3: hair shading&highlight/cloth shading&highlight - img410.imageshack.us/img410/65…

I did shading&highlight in the same layer with basic colors... because I'm too lazy. =.='' But it'd be better if you add shadings and highlights in a different layer, so that you can adjust them later.


Step 4: more hair shading - img410.imageshack.us/img410/82…

because I want the hair have this solid feeling... the key to do this step is that you have to see the hair as a solid figure. you need to figure out where is the right place to add shades and lights.


Step 5: skin shading - img410.imageshack.us/img410/82…

this step is kinda important too... i dont know how to describe it... well just see it yourself. -is SHOT-

well as much as I hate photoshop... I still cant live without it. =.='' this step is not all that important, but if you do it properly, it'd come out nice... different people would do it in different ways. you can create your own methods too so dont mind mine too much.

I am opening commissions now, mostly because I'm planning on taking an art course next year and for that I need some financial aids. As some of you already know, I'm a university student majoring in biology and I'm going to graduate soon. For the last 20 years of my life I have never got a chance to study art, and I wont have much spare time after the graduation. And...well I just think that I should at least give it a shot, or I might regret it later...

Also I want to thank you all so much for my lovely watchers and friends, your supports mean so much to me. It all thanks to you guys that I've made much improvement in the last year...I love you all.
